A group of German organizations from civil society and business have teamed up to form an alliance named "Vereint für Demokratie" ('United for Democracy'). The group, which includes among others the Allianz Foundation, the Business Council for Democracy, and the PR firm Scholz & Friends, make the following statement about their country's democracy: 

"[It's the] election year 2024. Hatred, racism, and extremism are on the rise. Numerous organizations and committed individuals are defending democracy and diversity. [...] They need financial support. Many companies now do not just want to take a stance, but to act, too." 

To help provide these much needed funds, the group have set up a financing model that disperses donations to pro-democratic projects selected by a jury.
