The Swiss company Proton provides an open-source and publicly audited VPN Service. Proton stands for privacy on the internet and for access to information as a human right.

As a tool to fight against online censorship and lack of access to information, Proton offers their servers in Venezuela for free since July 19th. This serves as a counterweight to the state censorship and spread of misinformation around the 2024 presidential elections. It also strengthens their mission to “defend internet access around the world”.
